A beautiful antique French Belle Epoque paste drop pendant.
It is crafted in 800 silver and set with an array of twinkling clear paste stones.
The pendant has a pretty openwork design with scrolling flora and an articulated drop, it has an integral bale which is adorned with a tiny paste stone.
Marked on the reverse 800.
Paste stones are made from a type of Flint glass and cut like gemstones and often placed in foiled or closed back settings, it is now highly collectable and was used commercially in the 18th century as an alternative to diamonds but was invented and used before this time.
This would make for a fantastic gift for someone special or as a treat for yourself.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, used, some patina and light surface wear, minor discolouration and scratches to a few stones, all stones present.
