This antique, Edwardian era 9ct gold and Carnelian signet ring really has a lot going on!
It is truly a statement signet ring and is very grand and regal with an unusual design.
It has an shield shaped face set with a rich orangey red Carnelian stone, this has not been carved so the stone could be personalised if desired with your initials or crest.
It has chunky raised shoulders with magnificent engraving, really making this ring stand out.
Despite its large chunky size the shoulders are hollow so it is not overly heavy to wear.
It has certainly been well worn and loved over the many of its years but it still had a lot to give.
There is simply nothing to displease about this handsome antique signet ring and you won't be disappointed if you decide to make him yours!
Signet rings derive their name from the Latin for signature, they were popular throughout history in men's jewellery and were often carved with family crests or signatures and used as stamps or intaglios, later they remained popular as a fashion choice and they have remained a popular piece of mens jewellery since their creation.
Marks and era:
Edwardian era, marked 9ct, no date letter, c1900s.
